The electric Harley
An e-chopper is an electric scooter in chopper style: wide tyres, a comfortable seat and handlebars you sit relaxed behind. It rides at about 25 km/h and is fully electric, so all you hear is nature around you.
From our meeting point at Restaurant Hollands Venetië you're in Weerribben-Wieden National Park within minutes. You ride past picture-perfect spots like Belt-Schutsloot, Wanneperveen, Kalenberg and Blokzijl, with wide views over the water along the way. It's the quiet side of Giethoorn that most day visitors never see.

Want to take your child, partner or friend along? We have special duo e-choppers that two people can ride together.
Perfect for families with children who can't ride themselves yet, or for anyone who'd rather enjoy Weerribben-Wieden together. The driver needs a valid driving licence.

Come to the start
Meet us at Hollands Venetië, Beulakerweg 167 in Giethoorn. Free parking on site. Bring your driving licence.
- Step 3
Ride!
A short explanation, phone in the holder, start your route and off you go. As long as you're back on time, you can ride wherever you like.
Routes
You're free to go wherever you want, but we've also mapped out routes past the most beautiful spots of Weerribben-Wieden: along the water, through the woods and over quiet dykes.
- Download the Routefabriek app (Route.nl) from the App Store or Google Play.
- Search for badass.
- Choose a route and tap route volgen (follow route).

Rental conditions
Driving licence required. You need a valid car driving licence. A car licence from your home country is fine. Please bring it with you.
- Wearing a helmet is mandatory on the e-chopper.
- A regular e-chopper is for one person. Taking someone along? Choose a duo e-chopper.
- Stay on paved roads and cycle paths.
- The centre of Steenwijk is off limits (camera enforcement, € 210 fine).
- The e-chopper has third-party insurance; the renter's excess is € 1,000. Rather not worry? Add the damage and theft cover (from € 3.50 per vehicle) when you book.

Tip: on sunny days bring sunglasses and sunscreen, on cooler days a jacket and gloves, and a poncho if it might rain.
